Beads shop in Auckland

I found beads shop in Auckland. The shop is located in Pt Chevarlier, the name is "The Bead Hold". This shop is so cute and there are lots of beautiful beads and wire accessory!! I should have taken photo.

After that we went to park near the beach but tide is out. Anyway now the weather is getting better:)

ニュージーランドでビーズが買えることを発見！早速いってみました。
日本とはまた違って、ビーズを1個ずつ買えるのですごい楽しかったです。お店の写真もお願いして取らせてもらえばよかった。。。。
すっかり忘れてましたー。
ビーズショップのあとは海の近くの公園へ。でもちょうど引き潮だったようでこんな感じ。
最近はいい天気で夏らしくなってきました！

Amusement park (遊園地)

The end of last month, we have 3 days off. New Zealand has less public holiday comparing to Japan. For us these are big weekend!! And I found small amusement park near my apartment:) Many people were in the queue, so I didn't try. Next time I want to try to ride them!! 

 先月の終わりは3連休でした。ニュージーランドは祝日が少ないので、3連休は貴重な週末です。ちょうどその時にみつけた移動式遊園地。

日本にはたくさんの遊園地があるので、それと比べると花屋敷のもっと小型版なのでかわいかったです。

祝日はたいていのお店が休みになることもあって、たくさんの人がならんでました。ちょっと怖いけど、次回はチャレンジしたいと思ってます。って1年後だけどね。。。。

Lantern festival

I went Lantern festival. This is to celebrate Chinese new year. As you may know, this year is Dragon!! My workmates talk a lot about baby, who will be born in Dragon year. So I guess Dragon year may be better than other year.

And festival was very busy.

ランタンフェスティバルという中国の新年を祝うお祭りにいってきましたー。

中国の干支は日本と同じ龍年です。香港出身の会社の人たちが龍年生まれの子供についていろいろ話をしていたので、おそらく縁起がいいと言われているのではないかと勝手に推測。日本と違って龍もカラフルで、いろんなランタンがあります。

ランタンってちょうちん？うーん、本場中国でも新年をランタンで祝うのかわかんないですが、オークランドにはめずらしくたくさんの人がいて、出店もあって楽しかったです。

Beads magazine (ビーズの本)

I went to Auckland library to borrow beads magazines. Luckily, they have some books:) Here is the magazines, which I borrowed.

And these are my necklace and earrings:) Cute, isn't it?

Rotorua (ロトルア)

Here is Rotorua, where I went to travel with my friends. The name "Rotorua" came from Maori word. Maori language is similar to Japanese pronunciation. So Japanese can read Maori word as Ro-maji.
Rotorua is famouse for hot spring. This is too hot, but we can get good hot springs:)

こちらはロトルアに旅行に行ったときの写真。ロトルアという地名はマオリの言葉から来ています。
そして、マオリというのはもともとニュージーランドに住んでいた人たちのことです。
マオリ語はなぜか日本語と近い発音をするので、ローマ字読みをする日本人にはわりと楽に地名が読めます。日本語もマオリ語もあいうえおの音を母音としているので発音が似ているけれども、実際はまったく別の言語です。と書いていて興味がわいたので、そのうち、なぜ似ているのか、調べてみようと思います。
さてさて、そのロトルアは温泉で有名。写真は温泉が湧き出ている源泉なので、熱すぎだけど。いろいろいい温泉がありますよー。
ほとんどのところは水着着用なので、そこが日本との違いかも。
これからも、ニュージーランドの温泉めぐり続けていきますー:)
