Return to Tokyo! (東京へ帰国)

I am going to Tokyo, so I am in Auckland airport now. Yesterday I said thank you to my host family. My host mother and father told to me that I could leave my luggage and be taken to the airport. They are very kind to me, but I already have left my luggage and booked shuttle bus to go to the airport. So I’m OK. Today I left home 5:30 am, so I’m sleepy. However, I’m very very glad to come back!! See you New Zealand!

今、東京へ向かっていて、オークランド空港へ到着。昨日はホストファミリーにありがとうとお礼をいってお別れしました。私のホストマザーとホストファザーは荷物置いてってもいいよとか空港まで送るよとかいってくれましたが、朝のフライトが早いので自分でシャトルを予約したし、新しいフラットにすでにレフトラゲッジしてきたので、大丈夫と伝えておきました。みんなほんとーにやさしくてよかったです。今日は家を5:30にでてちょっと眠い。でも日本に帰国するのですっごく楽しみです。またねーニュージー！

Christmas Present!!

I bought Christmas Presents for my host family. My family was 6 people, so I needed to buy 6 presents. I concerned about what I bought for my family, and I don’t know what they like really. Therefore, I bought cosmetics for my host mother and her daughter, a bottle of wine for host father and 3 boxes of chocolate for brothers. Maybe it will be good for them. Also, I bought wrap for presents. I needed spend money for Chrismas, but It was interesting for me!

ホストファミリーにあげるクリスマスプレゼントを買いました。うちの家族は6人なので6個必要なの。。。。何が好きなのかあんまりわかんないので何を買うかすごい迷ったけど、結局ホストマザーとホストマザーの娘さんにはロクシタンのハンドクリームにして、ホストファザーはワイン（これも$15ぐらい。安すぎ？）、息子たち3人へはチョコレートにしました。たぶんよろこんでくれるんじゃないかと。。。。あとはラッピンググッズを買ってラッピング！NZのクリスマスはお金がかかるけど、楽しくなってきた。

Piha Beach (ピハビーチ)

I went to the Piha Beach yesterday. My host family took me to the Piha Beach. It took 1 hour driving, but it is very very beautiful place. The Piha Beach is famous for rough waves, so there is a TV program, called “Piha rescue.” However, it is good for surfer, because waves have strong. I wanted to surf this beach.
The Piha Beach has beautiful sea water and black sands, which is made from a volcano. The sands was soft and comfortable.

昨日はホストファミリーがピハビーチにつれてってくれました。1時間ぐらいドライブするだけで、こんなに素敵な場所があるなんて！ピハビーチは海が荒いのが有名で「ピハレスキュー」なんてTVプログラムまである。サーファーにとってはいいポイントなので、結構サーフィンやってる人がいました。私もちょっとやりたいなーって思ったけど。まだ水は冷たい^^
きれいな海で火山灰でできた黒い砂。砂はふかふかしてて気持ちよかったです。

Ice Cream!! (アイス！)

This is a little expensive Kohu Load ice cream. Maybe it costs about $5, but it’s not mine, my friend’s. The reason of expensive ice cream is that this is made from organic products. I love ice cream, and my host family loves ice cream, too. My host family’s children can’t have ice cream every day, so when the children want to eat ice cream, they ask their father or mother to have ice cream. However, their parents forget their children to eat yesterday or not. As a result, it is self-certification. Sometimes older brother backs up younger brother, and older brother says, "He didn't eat ice cream yesterday." I think this thing is as same as Japan. Very very cute!!

これはちょっと高めのKohu Loadというアイス、確か5ドルぐらい。私のではなく友達の。高い理由はオーガニック素材でつくられているかららしい。私もホストファミリーもアイスが大好き。ホストファミリーの下の子達は毎日アイスを食べちゃいけないので、食べるときは必ずホストファザーかホストマザーにいってから。でも、お父さんたちは昨日食べたかどうかなんて覚えてなくて結局のところ自己申告制。たまにお兄ちゃんが弟をかばって「弟は昨日はアイス食べてないよ」といったり。こういうところは日本と一緒だなーって思う。とってもかわいい！！

How much Life Expense? (生活費っていくら？)

When I lived in Japan, I searched about New Zealand blog but couldn’t look for suitable blog. So I started writing this blog. Almost all people want to know how much studying abroad costs. I write about my life expense from September to October, but I arrived here on 14th September. Actually, my life expense is about one and a half months.
I save money pretty well, so if you want to live more luxury, you will need more money.

日本にいたとき、ニュージーランドの留学ブログを探したけれどもあまりいいのが見つからなかったので、このブログを書きはじめました。
今日はほとんどの人が知りたいであろう生活費っていったいいくらかかるの？という疑問についてお答えします！9月から10月までの生活費をつけたので、公開！！
ただ9月は9/14にこっちにきたので実質1ヵ月半。私はかなり節約している方だとおもうので、もっと贅沢に暮らしたい方はもっとたくさんお金が必要ですー。

Halloween (ハロウィーン)

A short time ago, Halloween was celebrated in my town, but it was not a big ceremony. Just some children wore costumes. However, New Zealand’s children sometimes wear costume, such as Spiderman, Batman or something, so it is not special things to wear costume.
When I came back home on Halloween day, my host family children waited for children to give some sweets and also ate sweats, too. And he wrote arrowed line for children! Very lovely!!

少し前、私の町はハロウィーンのお祭りがあった。といってもNZもここ20年ぐらいでハロウィーンを祝うようになったらしくそんな大きなものじゃなかったから、たまに仮装した子を見かけるぐらいだった。ニュージーランドの子供たちはハロウィーンとは関係なく、スパイダーマンやバットマンの格好をしてたりするので、そんな特別なことではないかも。。。
ホストのおうちに帰ったら、ホストファミリーの子達が仮装した子を待ってていつでもお菓子をあげられるようにしてた。もちろん自分もお菓子食べながら^^玄関に矢印書いて、お菓子あげるよって印を書いたの。すごくかわいい！！

Udon (うどん)

I cooked Udon, which was sent my husband from Japan, last night. As I heard it is expensive, because it costs about $15.00 (1,000yen :), this noodle is salty and I used to cook cheap Udon and this time Udon was little salty. However, I think Udon is one of the gladdest Japanese foods for host family; what’s more it is easy to cook. Very nice!!
In New Zealand, there is still cold, so I made hot Udon. My host family was very glad. My host mother said to me, ”My home stay students have never made dinner. You cook first time. Honestly, I’m glad.”
Finally, I think, “If you cook failure, it will be good for you and your host family to challenge cooking. Don’t be shy!”

昨日はだんなさんが日本から送ってきたうどんをつくった。これは高いうどんらしく1,000円するらしい。高い！！で、高いからかすでに麺にしっかり塩味がある。でも私は安いうどんしか料理したことないので、ちょっとしょっぱくなっちゃった。でも、うどんは一番喜ばれる日本食のひとつだと思う、なんといっても料理も簡単だしすばらしい！！
ニュージーランドはまだまだ寒いので、あったかいうどんで。ホストファミリーはとってもよろこんでくれました。ホストマザーも「いままできた学生の中で夕飯作った人はいなかったの。あなたが初めてよ。本当に感謝してるわ。」といってました。
結局は、いろいろ失敗があったとしても、チャレンジすることでホストファミリーは喜んでくれるので、機会があったらぜひチャレンジしてみて！！と思います。

Trampoline (トランポリン)

When I went out my home, my host family children jumped on a trampoline in the garden this morning. I said my host mother, "Oh! Your children jump on the trampoline."
She said, "I kow. They play wrestling. But I don't look outside. Because I am scared. When they played wrestling before, my daughter said I shoud look at them. But I don't look."
My host family children full of energy! They are cute!

今朝、家をでるとき、ホストファミリーの子供たちが庭にあるトランポリンでジャンプしてた。ホストマザーに「みんなトランポリンでジャンプしてるよ！」っていったら。
彼女は「わかってるわ。彼らはレスリングしてるのよ。でも怖いから、絶対外はみないの。前に同じようにしレスリングしてたときに、娘にも見たほうがいいっていわれたけど。見ないようにしてる。」だって。
ホストファミリーの子達は元気いっぱい。みんなかわいいですー！

Waste (ごみについて)

I was amazed at wasted truck on my way to school in the morning. Because it is all automatic.　Each house put wasted basket on the street like a picture. A wasted truck comes there and lifts it with the truck's arm and throw away the waste in the tunk of truck. Anyone don't need to take off the truck! Amazeing!
I talked about it to my host mother. "In Japan, each house bring the waste to a setting point. Wasted truck comes there. Someone takes off the truck and collects waste. It is manual labor."
She said, "In New Zealand, It used to be like Japan. But now it is automatic."
I hope it is adopted in Japan.

ある朝学校に行くときにゴミ収集車をみてすごくびっくりした。というのも全部自動化されているから。
どういうことかというと、それぞれの家がゴミ箱を写真のように道路においておくと。ゴミ収集車がきて収集車についたアームでごみを持ち上げてトラックのタンクへ捨てるという仕組み。それなのでだれもトラックから降りてくる必要がない！すごい！
「日本ではそれぞれの家が決められた場所にごみをもっていって、ゴミ収集車がそこに来て、車にごみをつんでいくの。手作業なんだ。」ってホストマザーにいったところ。
「ニュージーランドも昔は日本みたいだったんだよ。今は全部自動化されてるけどね。」だって。
日本でも導入されたらいいのになー。

God boy! (God boy!の意味)

I played cards with my host mother and youngest brother. (Memory and fish – I forgot name.)
When we play the memory, I realized something. If he found the pair, my host mother said good boy every time. What does “Good boy!” mean? I don’t know. I think this word has not also god but only some means.
I ask my teacher. She said, "God boy! means praise. Well-done and god on you are same meaning."
If I have a child, I will bring up like my host motyher.

ホストファミリーのお母さんと一番下の男の子とトランプをして遊んだ。（神経衰弱とフィッシュなんとかっていう名前だけど忘れました。）
神経衰弱をしていて、男の子がペアをみつけたときに必ずお母さんが"God boy!"ということに気づいた。
普通に直訳すると「いい子だ！」だけどなんかちょっと違う気がする。
先生に聞いてみたところ、些細なことでもKIWIは"God boy!"とほめるのよ。"Well-done"や"Good on you"も同じ意味だって。"Good on you"って意味を勘違いしてた。
もし子供ができたらこんな風に育てたいなー。

About NZ (NZについて)

I talked about New Zealand people and New Zealand beautiful places with my host father yesterday. He is so kind and cool. (My host family members are beautiful ladies and handsome men.)
He says New Zealand history is about 170 years. So popular people is less than other country. But New Zealand has so many beautiful places. He recommended me to go to Rotorua and Taupo on weekend .
He talk to me every day. So it is so good for me.

昨日はホストファザーとニュージーランドの人やニュージーランドの観光地について話した。
彼はとても親切でかっこいい！（うちのホストファミリーはお世辞でなくみんな美男美女）
ニュージーランドの歴史は170年ぐらいだから有名な人はほかの国より少ないけど。きれいなところはたくさんあるよって。
週末にロトルアやタウポにいくといいよってすすめてくれました。
ホストファザーは毎日話しかけてくれるので、とてもためになりますー。

Arrive at New Zealand (ニュージーランドに着きました)

I arrived at New Zealand yesterday. My host family is so good. Because they are kind and warm. I love them already.
My host family has 6 people, 2 cats and 1 dog. They are big family. So their house is big! Maybe 10 rooms, 2 bathroom and small pool. I was amazed at their house.
I am tired today. I go to home.

昨日ニュージーランドにつきました。私のホストファミリーは親切でやさしくてすごくいい家族なのですぐに好きになりました。
ホストファミリーは6人家族で2匹の猫と1匹の犬がいるので大家族。
で、それだけ大きな家に住んでます。だいたい10部屋ぐらいあって2つのバスルームがあって小さなプールがあるので見てすごくびっくりしました。
今日は疲れたのでこのぐらいで家に帰ります！

Letter to host family (ホストファミリーへの手紙)

I wrote a letter to my host family yesterday.
It is difficult for me to write the letter in English. So I referred to eigotown.com web site. It is helpful!
But this sample is boring. Therefore I arranged this sample.
I hope that my host family will be looking forward to seeing me.

昨日ホストファミリーへ手紙を書きました。
英語で手紙を書くのは難しいので、英語タウンのサイトを参考にした。

これは助かります！が、面白みに欠けるので、このサンプルをアレンジして書きました。
ホストファミリーも私に合うのを楽しみにしているといいなあ。

My host family is determined! (ホストファミリーが決定)

Today I heard from my school staff that my host family was determined.
My host family's house is a 15-minute walk away from my school.
They are six-member family (Mam, Dad, a sister, three brothers)! Wow!
I live with only my husband now.
When I go to New Zealand, I will live with six-member family.
I worry about whether I will be able to get along with them.
But my family were five members when I was young.
I think that it is common in all countries to savor the food, eating with passion.
I can work it out.

ホストファミリーが決定したと学校のスタッフの人から連絡をもらった。
ホストの家は学校から歩いて15分ぐらいのところ。
そして、なんと6人家族（お母さん、お父さん、1人姉妹、3人の兄弟）！
今は旦那と二人で暮らしている私が、ニュージーランドに行って6人家族の一員になれるのか？
まーでも思い出してみれば私も昔は5人家族だった。
食べ物の取り合いとか万国共通な気もするのでなんとかなるかな。
